Manuals and wiring diagrams
We are not hosting manufacturer PDFs yet. What this page does instead: show you how to identify the document that matches the board in your hand.
This page is not finished
We are not hosting manufacturer PDFs yet. Redistribution rights for the manuals have not been confirmed in writing, and republishing a document we have no right to distribute creates a problem for you as well as for us.
Blocked by: Written redistribution authorisation — RISK_REGISTER R-001
We publish this page in its incomplete state rather than filling it with plausible-looking detail. If you need an answer now, ask us directly.
How to identify the right document
In order. Skipping the first step is the most common cause of following the wrong manual — and the wrong manual describes different hardware, not just different instructions.
Read the revision off the board
The silkscreen on the PCB carries a model string and often a revision suffix. Photograph it under good light. A manual that does not match the revision in your hand describes different hardware.
Match the model string exactly
Model strings from different generations can look similar while describing different current ratings and port topologies. Character-by-character matching is the only safe method.
Check the manual date, not just the version
Two documents can share a version number with different issue dates. Where a parameter differs between revisions, the newer document does not automatically apply to older hardware.
Ask us when the manual does not cover your case
If your configuration is outside the documented range — more cells in series, a different chemistry, a charger the document does not mention — the answer is not in the manual and is not on this site either.
Send us the model string and revision
We will confirm whether what you have is current for that hardware. This costs nothing and occasionally prevents a wrong configuration.
Wiring diagrams are revision-specific
Sense-lead order, pre-charge arrangement and the position of the main contactor all differ between revisions. A diagram is only safe together with the board revision it was drawn for — if you are wiring a pack for the first time, ask before energising. This is the one area where we would rather answer slowly.
Can I download a manual, and which one is mine?
Two questions people actually type into a search box. Both are answered directly below — including the one whose honest answer is no.
- Where can I download a JK BMS manual or wiring diagram?
- Not as a download from this site. We do not host manufacturer PDFs, because written redistribution authorisation has not been confirmed (RISK_REGISTER R-001), and a document we have no right to distribute is not one we should pass on. What we can do is help you identify the exact document for the board in your hand and check with the manufacturer when the documentation does not cover your configuration.
- Send us the model string and revision
- Why a model number is not a specification
- Which manual matches my board?
- The one whose model string and revision match the silkscreen on the PCB, character by character. Similar model strings from different generations can describe different current ratings and port topologies, and two documents can share a version number with different issue dates. Read the revision off the board first, then match the string, then check the issue date; if your configuration is outside the documented range, the answer is not in the manual.
